Hard Drive Recovery

Should your Windows develop serious errors or fail to start, you can restore your computer back to factory settings by using the hard drive recovery located on a hidden partition on the hard drive.

To restore your computer back to factory settings, follow the steps below:

Turn on the computer and keep tapping F8 until the advanced options menu is displayed
Use the up/down arrow keys on the keyboard to highlight Repair Your Computer and press enter to select it
Select the language you wish to install (normally English is the only option)
Once you have chosen your language you will be presented with the available recovery options
- Microsoft Repair Environment - after choosing the UK keyboard layout you will be asked to choose the Operating System you wish to repair. If Windows Vista is not listed then you cannot repair the OS without doing the full recovery. After choosing Vista the Microsoft Vista startup repair tool will run and attempt to repair any startup problems you are experiencing
- Reinstall Windows - gives you the options available to reinstall Vista
- Advanced Options - this launches the diagnostic centre allowing you to run chkdsk, launch notepad or bring up a command prompt
- Exit & restart computer - Exits withut running the recovery process
To continue with the recovery program you need to choose Reinstall Windows
On the next screen you have the ability to launch Vista System Restore and roll back to a date when Vista was last working ok or to run the Full Destructive Recovery. To continue with the recovery program you need to choose Start Full Destructive Recovery
After choosing the Full Destructive Recovery option you are presented with the warning screen that all data will be lost. It is important to make sure all data has been backed up to disk if possible and to realise this process deletes all data and reverts the machine back to it's default state. To continue with the recovery program you need to tick the box indicating you are aware of data loss
The recovery process will then run through, the computer will restart a couple of times during this. You will also need to go through the Vista 'Out of Box Experience', to configure Vista. This is fairly straightforward so just follow the onscreen instructions

Recovery DVD Creator

Your computer comes supplied with a hard drive based recovery allowing you to reinstall Windows Vista very easily should the need arise. You also have the ability to create a recovery DVD which is recommended on all machines. To create a recovery DVD (note - you cannot use CDs) do the following.

Double click on the Techguys DVD icon on the desktop or from the start menu
The first screen will prompt you to insert a DVD into your drive. Click OK.
On the next screen make sure your DVD drive is selected in the 'To' field. To reduce the risk of errors ensure the write speed is set to the lowest value and tick verify recorded data. Click Burn
Once the process has completed, label your DVD, keep it in a safe place and in a protective case to avoid damage

DVD Recovery

I used Windows 7 on that computer for 2 years. For some reason, I couldn't connect to different sites, I have used normally. I tried to fix it using the installation disc and said key was invalid. I erased the hard drive and tried a clean install, and again once the key was invalid. What should I do at this point. BTW, before that, microsoft has recognized my windows 7 as valid. Yes, you can use this DVD Windows 7 Home Premium retail because it was Home Premium you had before. If you have 64-bit Windows 7 before, then you want the 64 bit DVD. If you have 32 bit Windows 7 before, then you want the 32 bit DVD. If you have 64-bit Windows 7 before, then you can use the 32-bit DVD if you have no choice and you may never notice the difference.
When you get to step installation product key, it can be easier to choose the activate later option.
When it's over, then activate via the Control Panel, [view by - small icons, as applicable], page system. Falling down and it should then give you instructions to contact for activation of the phone. If there is no problem with that, you can also get to the activation of the phone by typing slui 4 [not only slui but slui 4] in your Start menu search and then following that area through to get the phone number for your region.

I have windows 7 of dreamspark (I think that's what it's called) and had activated, it very well, but then my mobo/processor died so I had to replace both, after what for some windows 7 reason would not start up, and the dvd would not repair, so I had no choice but remove and reinstall. Here's my problem. I tried to install Mabinogi after my computer has been erased, and then upgraded to windows 7 from windows Xp. I had no issues when he was under windows Xp, but I have a problem trying to boot Windows 7. I get a message from the game saying 'Cancel-Compatibility Mode. Please re-run. ', even if I don't use it in Compatibility Mode. In addition, there are the case who does not show up after that it was just installed. When I click the Start Game button, the Client.exe seems to work not even how it should and will not launch what it should launch. By checking the site of Mabinogi, he lists the system requirements Windows 98 - XP. It is not listed on the Windows 7 Compatibility Center. You will need to contact Nexon to see if they are working on making it compatible with Windows 7.

When Magentic is set randomly change desktop wallpaper, as soon as a few programs are open, the screen goes white between applications, & sometimes annihilate the taskbar altogether.
What I don't understand is why, with half of the memory & half the capacity of the hard drive, my old computer running Windows XP Pro, has no this problem.
Don't want to upgrade to Windows Vista, but the OS came with my new laptop.
Is there a chance that this problem will have been resolved in Windows 7.
So far, this isn't progress, & for people who also use their computer for a living, this kind of problem in what is supposed to be an updated operating system does not give one the feeling that Windows is no longer a platform that can be trusted with the exception of frivolous folk.

Like you, I like so much the program Magentic but had the same problem. I have three children and each of them have a laptop. Two of them have Windows Vista and other Windows 7. I installed Magentic in each computer and had to uninstall the program because the screen turns white when used for a long time.
I suggest that uninstall you the program, use the desktop and screensaver provided by Windows and write a note to the developer team Magentic explaining your problem. I think it is a bug in the Magentic program that came out with the new OS (Vista and Windows 7). I hope that they solve the problem in the near future to use the program once more.

I use Windows 8.
I have problems with my services of Action Center, which denies my access to manually turn on Windows Defender, a long with error code 0 x 80070424 firewall.
Earlier my wscsvc services missing actually, but I found a thread that allows me to re - import return.
One thing I'm afraid however, wscsvc.dll file could be a version of Windows 7 - I'm not sure.
Anyway, after getting the file back wscsvc, I am able to run Windows Defender. However, the option that allows me to turn on and off the center of the Action seems to have disappeared. And I still cannot turn on my firewall manually.

I found some malware on my computer earlier and he was able to successfully get rid of them with Malwarebytes Anti-malware, I guess this is one of the reasons why wscsvc was missing.
I would like to ask for help on how I could solve this problem. Thank you very much!

PS: I found a few posts on restoring my registry with the CD thing: but I don't know how since I don't have a CD of WIndows 8. (my computer has been pre-installed with Windows 8, and the CD only I can find the ASUS driver CD or anything...)

So, I tried to scan my computer with Malwarebytes Anti-virus and tdsskiller and aswMBR and esetsmart... I seem to have got rid of the virus, and after restart twice Windows Defender works again, after his auto-scan, firewall is back to normal again.

When I selected the updates of Windows 7 for download, and then click on 'ok' it brings back me to the screen (see below) where the supply of Windows 10 and the single available tab seems to be the Windows 10 'get started' tab that I don't want or this tab starts my updates without involved me in the upgrade of Windows 10? I'm doing a search in a folder with a multiple excel spreadsheet and you're looking for an example of string 1045-02.
I tried using '1045-02' but gives everything that has an in 1045. It will give me 1045 10045-01, - 02 and so on. But no need doc with 1045-02 in it.
I even tried to use '1045' ~ = '-' '02' but the same. I tried several 3rd party also tools but nada.

Try this:
~ = '1045-02'.
However, be aware that research content requiring special symbols such as ~ = doesn't work when the search in unindexed fields. I turned off completely so that I don't have to think as indexing.
